This blog chronicles the sweet experiences of a formerly corporate-based kitchen adventurer. Sweet as in candy, that is. While the occasional cupcake, cookie, cake or other sweet baked good may make an appearance, it is homemade candies that are the stars. Having recently ventured into the world of candy making, I have discovered that there are many little quirks and tricks inherent in recipes that are not always apparent to the newbie. And these can, for example, be the difference between packaging your candy in a pretty gift box, or eating it with a spoon for dessert (or, worse, tossing it in the trash and pretending it never happened). Here, I will share the lessons I learn through my attempts, so that others may perhaps skip the learning curve and get straight to the good stuff.
